Expansion for Enterprise: We Built a Mobile Assessment Unit!
To help reduce the pressure on both ambulance and policing services, we have been working closely with our long-term leasing clients Enterprise Flex-E-Rent to help introduce a new mobile assessment unit to the market. The premium transportation service will be offered as part of Enterprise’s hire scheme to a variety of medical organisations including the NHS.
How will these new vehicles be used?
These brand-new vehicles will be available to hire through Enterprise Flex-E-Rent for a variety of different uses. The main aim is to help relieve pressure from vital services by using the vehicles to undertake initial patient assessments. A premium finish complete with ambient lighting helps achieve a calming yet non-clinical environment to help assess those in need. Most vehicles will be fully equipped and staffed appropriately so that they are able to respond to emergencies close by if required.
The Stanford Coachworks conversion
Based on a L3H2 Ford Transit, these mobile assessments units can facilitate up to four passengers in the rear saloon and one in the front cabin. To provide a comfortable environment for patients, we have upholstered the interior of the vehicle in a premium wipe clean material. One of Enterprise’s key points was to ensure that the vehicle did not feel clinical, like a standard PTS or front-line ambulance. To ensure that we met their brief, we used a contrast of light and dark easy to clean bio-leather paired with soft feel carpet and wood-effect floor covering. For passenger and staff safety, we also installed a Perspex screen into the front bulkhead plus an internal CCTV system.
To ensure that the vehicle is accessible for everyone, we have fitted a heavy-duty fold-out ramp inside the rear of the vehicle. The row of three passenger seats have also been made removable, allowing space to secure a single wheelchair into the floor tracking.
For face-to-face assessments, we have custom-built a fold-out desk complete with a lockable cupboard for the storage of any required medical equipment. Additional comforts such as rear saloon heating and air conditioning, ambient LED lighting, one-way privacy glass, saloon speakers and two panic buttons have also been included.
