SCW team up with premier private ambulance & event medical provider

At Stanford Coachworks our medical service vehicles are converted to suit each individual client and are designed to meet the most demanding of medical emergencies. Our bespoke conversion process caught the attention of our latest client who was after a new PTS ambulance to join their growing fleet.

Team Medic is a specialist private ambulance organisation who pride themselves on being the UK’s premier private ambulance and event medical provider. They supply a diverse range of services to a variety of different clients including patient transfer, event first aid and even first aid training.

The family business, formed in 2011, saw a gap in the market for effective and competent medical cover within the British American football scene, so decided to create Team Medic. Soon after, Team Medic went from strength to strength and have expanded into now offering cover to a range of national events such as sporting, community events, tv / movie shoots, corporate and school festivals. In 2017, Team Medic registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) which enabled them to undertake non-emergency patient transfers and frontline emergency service work on behalf of the NHS. Their new Stanfords vehicle will join their fleet to further help provide these services.

Team Medic’s new PTS ambulance is based on a Renault Master LM35 DCI.

Based on a Renault Master LM35 DCI, Team Medic’s new PTS ambulance can be used to carry either four seated passengers, one stretcher or one wheelchair. Entry into the ambulance can be achieved via a pedal operated side step fitted below the side load door. For patients using wheelchairs or the stretcher, we have installed a heavy-duty fold-out ramp which is incredibly user friendly for all of Team Medic’s staff members. Many events that Team Medic attend take place in large open spaces such as fields, so we decided that for everyone’s safety, it was essential to install our heavy-duty rear door stays. These heavy-duty rear door stays are small but strong pins which lock the rear doors into place, disabling them slamming shut in the wind.

A flexible configuration is key for Team Medic as the vehicle will be used for a variety of different events. Inside, the vehicle’s interior has been made completely wipe clean, allowing for a quicker cleaning turnaround time after each use. Although fully wipe clean, Team Medic’s interior does not lack on the colour front! Each seat has been upholstered in a blue textured material with contrasting yellow piping and open head rests.

Rear saloon space was another of Team Medic’s priorities so instead of standard seating, we installed cleverly-designed passenger seats that include tip, fold and swivel functions. These seats can easily be stored away to create additional space when not in use. Storage for Team Medic’s essential medical equipment was also a major requirement, so our skilled team have constructed multiple storage compartments and overhead lockers throughout.

These cleverly-designed seats can be configured in multiple ways to allow for additional rear saloon space.

Being a PTS ambulance, it is incredibly important that Team Medic have a reliable vehicle with plenty of power sockets, sufficient lighting and adequate temperature controls to help provide the best care for their patients. To power all of this vital on-board equipment, we have installed an 800-watt inverter in the front cabin. In the rear, paramedics have access to double 240-volt power sockets with USB points, a 12-volt power point, incubator sockets and DIN sockets. Other crucial vehicle features include piped oxygen, fitted around the inner roof of the vehicle, and oxygen bottle storage points.

As Team Medic are registered with the CQC, there is a high possibility that their new Renault Master could be carrying out frontline emergency service work for the NHS or other organisations. Because of this, it was crucial that their vehicle included blue lights and sirens, making them visible to all road users in the event of a medical emergency.

Team Medic’s Renault Master features emergency blue lights and sirens.

We would like to say thank you to Team Medic for choosing us to carry out their PTS ambulance conversion. We thoroughly enjoyed working with them throughout the process and we hope that their new Renault Master can help contribute towards taking care of their clients.
