Working with moving and running vehicles
With many vehicle movements happening on site each day, it’s important to have a good understanding of how to work with both moving and running vehicles.
How to keep safe
Using sharp and cutting tools
At Stanford Coachworks we use a number of sharp tools and cutting tools for different aspects of our conversions. When using these tools, it is important to do so with care and caution.
Always wear the correct PPE
When using these tools always wear the correct PPE, this could include chain mail gloves, eye protection & ear protection.
Keep hands safe
Always keep your hands away from the cutting path and any blades that you may be cutting materials with.
Be sure to carry out any work with sharp or cutting tools within plenty of workspace away from distractions.
Workspace
If you are replacing cutting mechanisms always switch off and unplug the tool / machine. Always ensure that the blade is secure before switching the tool back on and using it.
Replace cutting mechanisms
When working with the machinary in the woodshed, always ensure that the LEV system is on and operational. Keep your hands away from the blade and always use the push stick for smaller pieces.

When welding, there are many things to consider in relation to safety. Ensure that you are following all of the correct steps to keep yourself and others as safe as possible.
