Mums & Sons add another Peugeot to their Fleet

Since 2012 we have been converting a number of vehicles for a long-term client of ours. Established in 2003, Mums & Sons are a fantastic organisation who specialise in disabled passenger transport for those with and without restricted mobility.

Mums & Sons

Their friendly group of professional drivers and passenger assistants operate a 24 hour, 365 days a year service. To do this they use their fleet of 15+ specially adapted 8-seat minibuses. Services include a wide range of transport for SEN schools, day centres, nursing homes, shopping trips and airport transfers.

Adding to their expanding fleet, we have converted another fully accessible L2H2 Peugeot Boxer for them.

Front Cab Area

To ensure that the front cab of the silver Boxer was just as stylish and comfortable as the rest of the vehicle, we reupholstered the single front passengers and driver’s seat centre panels. Also included is in-dash air conditioning and a custom SCW chequer plate for the driver.

Rear Saloon

The rear saloon can facilitate up to 7 M1 tested passenger seats or 3 wheelchairs with seats removed. To secure both the wheelchairs and seats, the SCW team have installed our tracked floor and overlaid it with hardwearing carpet. We then lined the interior with contrasting dark ‘Anthracite’ and light ‘Smoke’ grey soft feel material.

All of the passenger seats and their head rests have been upholstered in a new Camira moquette with wipe clean Ambla bases and lower back curve. NMI removable legs have also been fitted to each seat for quick and easy removal. On each side of the vehicle, high level cant rail tracking has been installed and includes matching moquette Velcro covers.

Passengers can access into the rear saloon via the electric side step fitted below the side load door.

To make entry and exit as easy as possible, we have installed 2 yellow powder coated grab handles. The rear most grab handle forms into an upholstered modesty screen. For passengers using wheelchairs, access can be achieved via the Ricon internal tail lift. This is located at the rear of the vehicle. We have also fitted a wheelchair clamp storage box, side wall tracking and an umbrella holder. We fitted this besides the tail lift for the stowage of belts, clamps and other equipment.

An electric side step and a Ricon internal tail lift have been installed to help clients enter and exit the vehicle.

Passenger Comfort

Passenger comfort is high up on the priority list, therefore we have installed Eberspacher rear saloon heating and air conditioning. 4 LED roof lights with bright white and comfort blue facility and rear saloon speakers also add to the comfort factor. To give the vehicle an exclusive finish, each of the rear saloon windows have been limo tinted.

Safety the Stanfords Way

Safety is our number one priority so we have included a number of different features to ensure this. These include forward and rearward facing cameras, front passenger and side load door automatic step lighting, side step and door open warning buzzers, high visibility yellow edging on steps and a white noise reversing alarm.

At Stanford Coachworks we build and test all of our conversions to IVA / NSSTA regulations. We supply each vehicle with a certificate to prove this.

Thank You from SCW!

We hope that Mums & Sons enjoy using their new vehicle and we look forward to delivering their next L3H2 Peugeot Boxer later in the year.
