Back on Tour: Executive Production Vehicle for Blacklight Tours

This week we converted another Mercedes Sprinter production vehicle for returning client, Blacklight Tours. Their new L3H2 Sprinter will join Blacklight’s existing Stanfords vehicles which are all converted to a similar bespoke specification.

Based in East London, Blacklight Tours supply a number of various sized executive splitter vans to a variety of clients in the music, film and television industry. Each specialist vehicle is available to hire with or without a driver and have all been designed specifically for touring or film production use.

The Stanfords conversion

Blacklights latest Stanfords vehicle is based on a Mercedes Sprinter 316 L3H2 and can facilitate up to eight passengers. In the main passenger saloon, six comfort reclining seats have been installed in a conference style seating arrangement around a large centre table. Each seat has been upholstered in a black leather with silver panels, stitching and piping. To give the vehicle that executive Stanfords look, we have laid an ebony wood effect lino flooring and have lined the interior in a soft-feel carpet with a contrasting silver suede centre roof panel.

To entertain passengers throughout their journey, we have installed two television screens with Apple TV, a Bluetooth soundbar and a HDMI socket which automatically switches input to mirror whichever device is plugged into it. Blacklight Tours also offers additional entertainment options such as PlayStations and on-board Wi-Fi which are available to hire with their vehicles.

To illuminate the rear saloon, we have recessed four blue / white LED lights into the ceiling. These lights can be controlled using the switch panel situated on the window ledge. Throughout the vehicle, various 240-volt power sockets have also been installed which include USB charging points.

Production area

In the boot of the vehicle, accessible via the rear doors, we have designed a production area which features a large fold-up dressing table and a U-shaped roof mounted clothes rail. The dressing table easily stows away to protect the mirror and sits flat against the side wall allowing plenty of storage space for equipment whilst traveling.

The Sprinter tour bus features a large boot space with a fold-away dressing table.
