We are pleased to share our latest conversion - a fully bespoke, ultra-luxury wheelchair accessible Mercedes Sprinter. This specialist vehicle was created for a family looking for a safe and comfortable way to travel with their disabled son.
From the beginning, we worked closely with the family to understand not just the practical requirements of accessibility, but the priorities that shape a comfortable stress-free journey - easy of use, a calm environment and the ability to enjoy time together on the road. Every detail of the conversion was tailored specifically to them.
The Stanford Coachworks Conversion
Inside, the luxury Sprinter is finished in a premium combination of cream suedeflex and black vegan leather - materials chosen for their durability, comfort and luxury finish. The aim was always to create a travelling space that feels more like a private lounge than an accessible vehicle.
A high-quality internal tail lift provides effortless access into the cabin without compromising overall look or excessive space. The passenger cabin includes five rear passenger seats, two of which are fully removable, giving the family the flexibility to adapt the interior for different journeys and seating needs. In total the Sprinter can facilitate up to six passengers plus driver or, one wheelchair with four passengers.
To make every trip enjoyable, the vehicle is equipped with a variety of on‑board entertainment. High‑speed WiFi keeps everyone connected, while a television with Apple TV transforms the cabin into a mobile cinema! Overhead, the passenger cabin features a twinkling star‑light roof impressively constructed by one of our highly-skilled coachbuilders. On average our starlight roofs take three full-days to complete and consist of hundreds of fibre optic strands cut and distributed at varying lengths to achieve a stunning twinkling shooting star effect.
