Jess is Running the 2025 London Marathon!

We have some exciting news to share at Stanford Coachworks! Our Company Director, Jess Rider, will be taking on the 2025 London Marathon in support of Variety, the Children’s Charity.

This month SCW’s Paul Dedman had the pleasure of delivering a second Stanfords Sprinter to our returning clients at Crowthorne Community Minibus.

Last month we showed you a sneak peak behind the scenes at a bespoke vehicle that we had in build for one of our returning medical charity customers. We are now pleased to announce that the vehicles are now completed and have both been delivered to The Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability in London.

SCW & The Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability

We have had the pleasure of working with the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability since 2010 and during this time we have supplied multiple bespoke vehicles for them. Their latest two conversions are based on the Peugeot Boxer L4H2 and feature 4 passengers seats plus driver, space for up to 3 wheelchairs, an internal tail lift and a safety cycle warning system.

Who Are The Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability?

The Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability is an independent medical charity that provides rehabilitation and long-term care to people with complex neurological disabilities caused by damage to the brain or other parts of the nervous system. Their new fully wheelchair accessible vehicles will be on hand to assist patients with any travel commitments to ensure that they maintain as normal a life as possible. Other uses of the vehicles will include offering patients trips home, travel to/from their appointments, visits to the seaside, outings to the theatre and more!

Jess is Running the 2025 London Marathon!

We have some exciting news to share at Stanford Coachworks! Our company director, Jess Rider, will be taking on the 2025 London Marathon in support of Variety, the Children’s Chairty!

Jess’ 2025 London Marathon Goal

The gruelling training programme has already began for Jess, who will once again be taking on the 26-mile challenge. Previously in both of his 2009 and 2016 Marathons, Jess raised an astounding total of £35,000 and finished in an incredible time of 3 hours and 42 minutes! This time around Jess’ aim is to cross the finish line with his daughter, Alice.

Over the past few years, Stanford Coachworks have been working closely with Variety to help supply a range of organisations with their famous blue Sunshine Coaches. During this time, Jess has attended many of Variety’s fundraising events where he has been given the chance to experience first hand some of the fantastic work that they do.

Who are Variety, the Children’s Chairty?

Variety is a fantastic Children’s charity who have been funding and delivering life-changing programmes to children and young people across the UK for the past 75 years. The charity provides a range of services including grants for specialist disability equipment, memorable day trips and outing, and of course, accessible transport with their famous blue Sunshine Coaches. Since 1949 over 5,800 Sunshine Coaches have been supplied by Variety. These coaches give children the opportunity to explore places and experience different learning environments.

Help Support Jess with his Fantastic Challenge

Jess’ target is to raise £15,000 which will allow Variety to donate a brand-new Sunshine Coach to a SEND school or non-profit organisation supporting disabled and disadvantaged young people. Crowthorne Community’s Second Stanfords Minibus

This month we were delighted to deliver our second vehicle to returning customers Crowthorne Community Minibus. Their new vehicle is based on the Mercedes Sprinter L4H3 and can transport up to 15 passengers or 5 wheelchairs with seats removed. Inside, the vehicle can features premium wipe clean custom stitch seating, passenger heating and air conditioning, an electric side step and our specialist Super Flat Floor with an encased underfloor tail lift.

Who are Crowthorne Community Minibus?

Crowthorne Community Minibus is an independent charity ran entirely by a group of fantastic volunteers. The charity provides accessible transport for elderly and disabled people living in and around Crowthorne. Their brand-new minibus will be used to support Crowthorne’s community transport service, which provides a variety of exciting day trips, including outings to garden centres, wildlife hospitals, shops, cafes and local stroke clubs.

The Handover

SCW’s Paul Dedman had the pleasure of delivering the new vehicle to Crowthorne Community Minibus. During the handover, Paul met with the team at Crowthorne to show them around their new minibus. We would like to thank Crowthorne Community Minibus for their returning custom and we hope that everyone enjoys using the new vehicle. Two New Production Vehicles for Blacklight Tours

This month the SCW conversion teams have been hard at work converting two brand-new production vehicles for one of our long-term customers, Blacklight Tours. We have had the pleasure of working with Blacklight Tours since 2014 and have now converted over 10 bespoke vehicles for them.

The Conversion

Blacklight Tours’ latest two conversions are based on the Mercedes Sprinter L3H2 and both feature a split rear saloon configuration. Both vehicles, named ‘Lil Pinky’ have been designed specifically for Blacklight Tours’ clients and can each facilitate up to 8 passengers plus driver.

In the front half, the passenger cabin features 6 premium reclining seats, a large centre table with a wireless charging station, 2 televisions with Apple TV and full on-board Wi-Fi. In the rear section, which can be accessed direct from the passenger cabin, both vehicles feature a custom-built dressing area with an LED illuminated fold-down dressing table, an upper storage compartment and a clothing rail.
