Two New Flat Floor Mercedes Sprinters for a Scottish Local Authority
We are proud to announce the completion of two specialist Flat Floor conversions, based on the Mercedes Sprinter L4H2 517, for one of our valued returning customers - a Scottish Local Authority.
These latest builds represent our 11th and 12th conversions for this valued customer, continuing a partnership that begun nearly a decade ago. Their first vehicle was converted by us back in 2016 and we are proud to keep supporting their fleet with bespoke solutions tailored to their needs.
What Will the Vehicles be Used For?
The vehicles have been converted to support a wide range of services across the region. They will play a vital role in home - school transport, ensuring safe and comfortable journeys for students, while also providing accessible transport for elderly and disabled passengers. In addition, they will serve the community through the authority’s dial-a-bus service, offering independence and mobility to those unable to use standard public transport.
The Vehicle Conversions
Each conversion has been designed with both practicality and passenger comfort in mind. The vehicles can accommodate up to 15 passengers plus driver or 5 wheelchairs and feature a PLS internal tail lift with automatic DoorSafe for secure and efficient boarding. The defining feature of these Mercedes Sprinters is our specialist Flat Floor design, which eliminates all wheel arch intrusions in the rear saloon. This innovative design maximises usable space in the passenger saloon, allowing for additional seating and wheelchair capacity.

A New Citroen Relay gets the Bespoke SCW Touch
Last week we had the pleasure of handing over our latest wheelchair accessible conversion, designed for a returning customer based in Eastbourne. Built on the new L3H2 Citroen Relay, this accessible vehicle showcases the bespoke Stanfords touch in every detail.
The Bespoke Stanfords Touch
The bespoke Stanford Coachworks touch is defined by craftmanship. Every vehicle is individually built from start to finish by a dedicated team of just two coachbuilders - ensuring true continuity, care and pride in every detail, rather than a production line approach. We only use premium components that are tried and tested, then elevate each build with bespoke features such as custom-stitch roof and feature panels, modesty screens proudly bearing the Stanfords logo, seamlessly integrated USB / USBc charging sockets and more.
This combination of personal craftmanship, premium materials and bespoke detailing embodies the Stanford Coachworks ethos: vehicles individually designed and built to meet each customer’s specific requirements.
