This month’s top pick is a specially adapted wheelchair accessible Fiat Ducato converted for a very special visitor of our clients at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir.

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, popularly known as the Neasden Temple, is a traditional place of Hindu worship situated in North, West London. Neasden Temple is open to all, from those who wish to worship or learn about Hinduism, the World’s oldest living faith, to those interested in just appreciating the magnificent art and architecture of the Mandir.

Neasden Temple’s L3H2 Fiat Ducato has been designed to specifically cater for His Holiness’ accessibility requirements and features three rear saloon passenger seats. Two removable passenger seats, fitted at the rear of the vehicle, are to accommodate His Holiness’ chaperones. Further forward we have installed an ultra-comfortable reclining Monaco-style seat for Mahant Swami Maharaj himself. All rear saloon seating has been upholstered in a premium black e-leather with silver custom stitching and piping.

The Stanford Coachworks Conversion

An Accessible Vehicle for a Very Special Visitor

The Neasden Temple approached us last year to help them create a bespoke wheelchair accessible vehicle in preparation of a very special visitor. This wheelchair accessible vehicle has been converted to transport one of the most respected Hindu leaders of today’s world during his visit to the UK and Europe. His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj will dedicate his time here blessing people, inspiring faith, harmony and community service. Those who wish to can visit His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj at the Temple until Thursday 8th June.

Accessibility

To meet Neasden Temple’s accessibility requirements, we installed a Ricon internal tail lift at the rear of the vehicle. The rear saloon can also be accessed via the sliding side load door which features an LED illuminated electric side step and full-height grab rail.

We would like to thank the Neasden Temple for choosing Stanford Coachworks to carry out their bespoke accessible conversion.

Interior Design

The interior of this new Fiat Ducato has been lined in a soft-feel grey material and features a black suede roof with a contrasting silver centre panel. Inside, additional features such as window blinds, USB / USB-c charging sockets, blue / white LED lighting and rear passenger heating and air conditioning has also been included.

Electrifying Events with Stanford Coachworks

With the industry looking to source cleaner and greener transport solutions, we decided to launch e-SCW, a specialist range of fully-electric vehicle conversions. Throughout the month of May, the team have been busy attending a variety of electrifying events to showcase our latest wheelchair accessible conversion.

The Maxus eDeliver 9

We have partnered with Maxus Heathrow Van Centre to produce the UK’s first M1 and M2 fully brake approved Maxus eDeliver 9 conversions. These innovative conversions are fully electric and can be configured in a variety of different ways. Our current exhibition vehicle features eight rear saloon passenger seats, an internal tail lift, a front luggage pen and a stylish custom stitch interior, plus it is available for demonstrations!

Fully Charged Live!

During the first May bank holiday weekend, the Stanford Coachworks team headed to Farnborough International for the World’s number one home energy and electric vehicle show - Fully Charged Live!

The event was a fantastic family day out with lots on offer to explore including the latest electric cars and commercial vehicles, micro-mobility such as e-scooters and bikes, various zero-carbon home energy improvements, plus a children’s fun zone. The weather may have not been great, but it certainly did not stop the crowds! Lots of visitors made their way over to the Heathrow Maxus stand to take a tour around our brand-new conversion.

ITT Hub Event

A couple of weeks later, we headed back to Farnborough International for the ITT Hub event (this time inside to avoid any rain!) where we once again had our Maxus eDeliver 9 on display with Heathrow Van Centre.

This event was more business focused and encouraged corporate clients to find out more about the ever-advancing transport and logistics industry. The ITT Hub showcased the latest and greatest innovations across the bus, van, truck and freight sectors. Tech Talk theatres, live chats and networking areas were also available to attend across the two-day event.

Our Partnership

Stanford Coachworks and Heathrow Van Centre were on hand to help educate the industry about our fully-electric wheelchair accessible conversions and we gave plenty of demonstrations on how the new vehicle performs. Many attendees were impressed by our high-quality finish and were surprised that an electric minibus could be so stylish!

Overall we had a fantastic month of events and we look forward to seeing where our next event takes us. If you would like to find out more about our e-SCW range, click here.
