The First of Ten New Accessible Sprinters for Ealing Community Transport

Last week SCW’s Paul Dedman has the pleasure of delivering the first of ten brand-new wheelchair accessible minibuses to the team at Ealing Community Transport.

The New Vehicles

The new vehicles, based on Mercedes Sprinter L3H2s, can transport up to 12 passengers plus driver or 6 wheelchairs with seats removed. The passenger saloon features a variety of removable seats and tip & turn seats all upholstered in a grey wipe clean material with colourful yellow piping and headrests. Other features include rear saloon heating and air conditioning, a front-entry design with a cut in step and a PLS underfloor tail lift.

About Ealing CT

Ealing Community Transport is the founding part of ECT Charity who are one of the UK’s leading providers of community transport. The charity carry out over 360,000 trips per year for communities in Ealing, West London, Cheshire and Dorset.

Their new vehicles will be put to work within a number of fantastic services such as:

  • Door to door service which provides transport to people within the borough who find it difficult to use standard public transport

  • Transport for GP appointments

  • Group transport for local community groups

  • Adult day centre transport

  • Home to school transport for children with special educational needs and disabilities

Two New Renault Master PTS Vehicles for an East England Council

So far this month the Stanford Coachworks team have had the pleasure of converting two new Renault Master PTS vehicles for a council based in the East of England.

Non-Emergency PTS

The fully wipe clean vehicles can facilitate up to 5 passengers plus driver, 2 wheelchairs or 1 stretcher, and will be put to work within the council’s Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service. This fantastic service provides transport for students with special educational needs, NHS and private hospital patients, care home residents and hospice patients.

Vehicle Features

Both vehicles are fully accessible and feature a fold-out ramp with a heavy-duty winch. The passenger saloon, which includes Eberspaecher heating and air conditioning, can also be accessed via the side load door, which has an electric side step fitted beneath it.

  • Based on the Renault Master LM35

  • Limo tinted rear windows

  • Exterior scene lighting

  • Facility to transport up to 5 passengers plus driver OR 2 wheelchairs OR 1 stretcher

  • Full wipe clean interior and seating

  • Fold-out ramp with winch

  • Electric side step

  • Eberspaecher heating and air conditioning

  • Front luggage pen

  • Driver’s screen with night blind

  • Non-slip lino flooring

  • Wheelchair restraint storage box

  • Upper cant rail tracking

  • CCTV system (internal and external)

  • Cycle warning system

  • Oxygen bottle storage points

  • Heavy-duty rear door stays
