The Citroen Berlingo is proving popular! We converted another Berlingo for a large healthcare group

Two specialist medical conversions for a long-term client

As opposed to a standard yellow or white PTS ambulances, one of our longstanding private ambulance customers wanted their newest medical service vehicles to really stand out from the crowd. Finished in a striking red with yellow ‘emergency ambulance’ signwriting, these two L3H2 Renault Masters feature an array of specialist medical features transforming them into emergency mobile treatment rooms.

Medical service vehicles converted to the highest standard

These two vehicles will be in emergency situations frequently so have to be fully equipped with a variety of specialist equipment. To store this equipment, we have designed custom lockable storage units throughout. We believe that all of our medical service vehicles must be built to the highest standards to meet the most demanding situations, therefore, each Renault Master has been converted to meet strict IVA regulations.

Specialist materials to suit the most demanding situations

Inside, the PTS’ feature a full wipe clean interior to help provide a completely sterile environment. These hard-wearing specialist materials can easily be kept clean after each journey. Both Masters include three passenger seats, two of which are removable to make more space for the stretcher, in the rear saloon. Each seat has been upholstered in a blue wipe clean fabric which matches the vehicle’s interior and features red piping, seatbelts and open head rests.

Powering the on board electrical equipment

Once delivered to our customer, any specialist medical items, including suction units and defibrillators, will be connected up to the conversions. To power all of this equipment, we have installed a 1600-watt inverter which runs a number of 230-volt plug sockets, USB sockets and a 12-volt outlet.

e-SCW: Another fully electric wheelchair accessible minibus

Since the announcement to halt production of all new petrol / diesel cars and vans in 2030, many local authorities have been under pressure to provide greener transport solutions. To help ease the pressure off our customers, we knew that we had to begin exploring electric minibus solutions for this ever-growing market.

Last year, we began testing a variety of electric vehicles and the Stanfords team have worked incredibly hard to create a high-quality electric WAV conversion. We have converted the Volkswagen ABT-e Transporter T6 from a standard electric panel van into a premium wheelchair accessible minibus which can carry up to 6 passengers or 1 wheelchair with seats removed. Inside, the minibus features wipe clean diamond stitch seating, a full length covid screen bulkhead and an internal tail lift. Click here to read more…

To kick off the new year, we converted two new Mercedes Sprinter tour buses for a long-standing customer - Civilised Car Hire.

They provide a huge variety of bespoke and exotic vehicles, from 8-seat production vans to Ferrari 458’s, mainly to the media and production industry. We have been honoured to work with the team at Civilised for over a decade and with each upgrade to their fleet of production vehicles, comes brand-new exciting features. This year, each of their latest production vehicles, based on L3H2 Mercedes Sprinters, feature a wireless charging station, smart glass tinted rear windows and a 3-tone LED illuminated beauty mirror.

Inside, the vehicles are arranged in Civilised’s LP9 configuration, meaning that the rear saloon is split into two sections speared by a coded lock door. The front half of the vehicle features a comfortable 6-seater passenger saloon with premium reclining bio-leather seats, two televisions with Apple TV and a large centre table. The rear half of the vehicle features a full custom-built production room with a fold-out dressing table.

More Citroen Berlingos…

Our new Citroen Berlingo conversions are proving popular and we now have quite a few on order for a number of different local authorities, healthcare providers and even private families.

The latest Berlingo to leave Stanfords has been converted for a large healthcare organisation and will be put to work in one of their various care homes. This minibus will be used to transport residents to and from medical appointments, day trips and shopping trips.

Based on a Citroen Berlingo Flair XL L2, this minibus includes a specially designed fold out ramp which sits inside of the original vehicle flooring. To help ease a wheelchair up this ramp, we have installed a heavy-duty winch and electroreels. Koller restraints have also been included to help secure the wheelchair in place. In the front half of the vehicle, there is also plenty of space for four passengers + driver.
