This month we had the pleasure of working with our long-term clients at The Royal Hospital to supply them with their latest Renault Trafic PTS Ambulance.

The Royal Hospital’s New Renault Trafic

We have proudly worked with the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability since 2010, supplying a wide range of vehicles from larger Renault Masters and Peugeot Boxers to smaller Ford Tourneo Connects. The time, they’ve chosen something perfectly in-between - The Renault Trafic - offering a more accessible size that allows staff members to drive with confidence. The new vehicle can facilitate up to four passengers plus driver and is fully wheelchair accessible, featuring a Ricon internal tail lift to support a single wheelchair user. Inside, it follows their well-trusted design, complete with patterned moquette seating, overhead storage lockers, oxygen bottle storage points and 240-volt sockets for essential medical equipment.

Who are the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability?

The Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability is an independent medical charity providing specialist rehabilitation and long-term care for people living with complex neurological disabilities caused by brain or nervous system injuries. Their accessible vehicles play a vital role in supporting patients with essential travel, helping them maintain a sense of normality and independence. These vehicles are used for trips home, transport to appointments, seaside visits, theatre outings and a wide range of day-to-day experiences that enrich patients’ lives.

Vehicle Specification

  • Based on the Renault Trafic LH model.

  • Capacity for up to 4 x passengers plus driver or 1 x wheelchair.

  • 2 x rear passenger seats upholstered in blue patterned moquette.

  • Interior trimmed fully in soft-feel materials with patterned moquette feature panels.

  • Front cabin seats reupholstered to match the rear passenger cabin.

  • The Royal Hospitals personalised exterior decals.

  • Ricon internal tail lift fitted at the rear of the vehicle.

  • Overhead lockable luggage racks.

  • Pedal operated side step fitted below the side load door.

  • Oxygen bottle storage points.

Two New Sprinters for Leading British Automotive Manufacturer

We are honoured to once again work with our returning clients, a leading British automotive manufacturer, to supply two new premium minibuses for their factory.

About our Customer

We previously collaborated with this customer back in 2016, supplying their first two Sprinter minibuses, and we’re proud to support them once again a decade later. These latest vehicles will be used to transport guests around their impressive factory that specialises in vehicle design, aerodynamic vehicle testing and world-leading sportscar development.

About the New Vehicles

Both new vehicles are built on the Mercedes Sprinter L3H2 and are finished in Obsidian Black, enhanced with our upgraded Monaco front grille and privacy tinted rear windows.

Inside, each vehicle is configured to transport up to 16 passengers plus driver, with 15 premium passenger seats in the rear saloon. All seats are upholstered in black vegan leather with silver diamond stitching. The interior is fully trimmed in grey soft-feel materials, paired with black hard-wearing carpet and luxury cover mats to ensure both comfort and longevity under daily use.

To elevate the passenger experience further, both vehicles feature sophisticated LED roof lighting, ambient colour-changing saloon lighting and a large fully electric side step fitted at the side door entrance.

At Stanford Coachworks we pride ourselves on producing industry leading high-quality conversions that are engineered and tested to meet all UK legal safety requirements, with each minibus undergoing a thorough IVA test. Safety is paramount, particularly for home-to-school transport where children rely on secure, dependable travel every day.

Accessible Mercedes Minibuses for a Returning Scottish Local Authority

Earlier this month we were pleased to convert another specialist accessible Mercedes Sprinter for one of our long-term Scottish local authority customers.

Their latest conversion is based on the Mercedes Sprinter L4H2 and features our specialist SCW Flat Floor. This innovative design maximises space in the rear saloon by eliminating all wheel arch intrusions, creating additional space for wheelchair positions and flexible seating configurations.

Since our relationship began in 2015, Stanford Coachworks has proudly converted almost 20 vehicles for this Scottish local authority, including a mix of Volkswagen Crafters and Mercedes Sprinters, take a look at just a few of them below! Their fleet plays a vital role across the community, supporting residents in a variety of ways - from home-to-school transport for pupils with additional support needs to a door-to-door accessible bus service for people aged 65 and above, helping those who wouldn’t usually get out and about to visit cafes, garden centres, antiques centres and more.

The Latest Minibus

The new minibus is fully wheelchair accessible and can facilitate up to 15 passengers plus driver, or up to five wheelchair users with seats removed, offering exceptional flexibility for a wide range of passenger needs. Inside the rear saloon, the layout has been designed with inclusivity at its core, featuring a size-inclusive bariatric passenger seat to ensure that everyone can travel comfortably.

Accessibility for All

The vehicle is equipped with a side door entrance featuring our exclusive SCW fold-out low-entry side step, providing easy access for all passengers. For those requiring additional assistance, a PLS internal tail lift with automatic DoorSafe barrier has been installed at the rear of the vehicle to ensure safe, supported boarding. For added safety, amber flashing warning lights are integrated into the front grille and above the rear doors, automatically activating whenever the side load doors or rear doors are open.
